Highlands Hammock State Park to Host 25th Annual Civilian Conservation Corps Festival

~Event will celebrate establishment of one of Florida’s first state parks~

SEBRING – In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Florida State Parks, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Highlands Hammock State Park is hosting the 25th Annual Civilian Conservation Corps Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010.

The festival honors the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), who voluntarily joined this civilian army in the 1930s and worked on conservation projects throughout the United States, including Highlands Hammock State Park. Event highlights include a CCC reunion, arts and crafts vendors, an antique car show, live music and entertainment, children's activities, wildlife exhibits, tram tours, hayrides, festival foods and more.
