City of Leesburg Venetian Cove Marina to Receive Clean Marina & Clean Boatyard Designations

~Environmental stewardship high priority for city marina~

LEESBURG – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), together with the Clean Boating Partnership, will recognize Venetian Cove Marina as the first Clean Marina and Clean Boatyard designated in Lake County on Thursday, October 21, 2010.

DEP Central District Director Vivian Garfein and Clean Marina Coordinator Charles Johnson will join City of Leesburg representatives at a chamber event where Clean Marina and Clean Boatyard flags and a plaque will be presented to representatives of the marina.

Designation as a Clean Marina exemplifies the commitment of the City of Leesburg to protect the environment and prevent pollution in Florida’s waterways.
