enthusiasts, filled with abundant natural places of great beauty that draws
millions of residents and tourists each year.
The Department of Environmental Protection is directed by the Florida
Legislature to cooperate with state and federal agencies, private organizations,
and commercial and industrial interests in the promotion of a state outdoor
recreation program. Florida’s ideal outdoor recreation program is a diverse,
connected and balanced system of outdoor recreation resources, facilities and
programs.
This website supports the vision of Florida's ideal outdoor recreation system by
providing a central resource of information regarding outdoor recreation in Florida
and related information on Florida’s official outdoor recreation planning document,
the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP).
