2011-2012 Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)

Grant Application Submission Cycle

The application submission cycle will be held from Thursday, March 1, 2012, through Thursday, March 15, 2012. All new applications must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2012.

The 2010-2011 LWCF priority lists was not entirely funded, leaving many worthwhile projects remaining. It has been decided that last years applicants may rollover that application, as scored, for the new 2011-2012 application submission cycle, or you may submit a new application. Either decision means you may only have one application for funding consideration for the 2011-2012 submission cycle.

Grants Overview

The Grants Section of the Office of Financial Management administers grants to local governments through the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). These are competitive, reimbursement grant programs which provide financial assistance for acquisition or development of land for public outdoor recreation. Eligible participants include all county governments, municipalities in Florida and other legally constituted local governmental entities, with the responsibility for providing outdoor recreational sites and facilities for the general public. Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program

is a state competitive grant program that provides financial assistance to local governments to develop and/or acquire land for public outdoor recreational purposes the maximum grant request is $200,000.
