GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Office of Greenways and Trails is seeking comments from the public regarding updates to the Opportunity Maps for Florida’s network of non-motorized land-based and water-based trails. Interested persons may drop in at any time during these open houses to learn more about the update and to provide comments. Materials will be available at each open house location and will be available online at http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/FGTS_Plan/2015_FGTS_UPDATE.htm. Florida Office of Greenways and Trails (OGT) Acquisition Cycle Webinar

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the Office of Greenways and Trails Acquisition webpage (www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/acq/) for future viewing.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This webinar is designed to assist prospective applicants for the 2015 land acquisition funding cycle under the Florida Greenways and Trails Program. Topics to be discussed during the webinar include: completion of the application packet, Certificate of Eligibility requirement, requirements of Chapter 62S-1, F.A.C., maps, and other useful materials.
Proposals for land acquisition funding under the Florida Greenways and Trails Program are being accepted through 5:00 p.m. (EDT) on August 31, 2015.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: To conduct general business of the Council as well as discuss and vote on the designation of the following proposed projects as components of the Florida Greenways and Trails System: Shired Island Paddling Trail and Greenway Extension and several state parks including Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park (excluding U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service property), Fort Pierce Inlet State Park (including Jack Island)(excluding U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property), Hontoon Island State Park (excluding Volusia County property), Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park (excluding Mormon Church property), St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park (excluding Florida Inland Navigation District property), Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park, Colt Creek State Park, Myakka River State Park, Terra Ceia Preserve State Park, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, and Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. The Council will also consider project applications for the 2015 Recreational Trails Program Priority List and vote on priority ranking, pending site control review by the Department of Environmental Protection.
