The Basics

There are hundreds of different air pollutants emitted into the atmosphere from stationary sources (like factories and mills) as well as from mobile sources (like cars and trucks). The Department keeps the air clean by controlling and limiting the amount of air pollutants emitted.

What are the Division's focus areas?

The following areas reflect the Division's priorities for protecting air quality and provide information about topics of special interest to the public.

Do you have a complaint regarding air pollution?

For complaints regarding compliance for permitted facilities, odor, dust, smoke, and asbestos, please contact a DEP District Office or Local Air Program in your area.
